1. @staff made a post pretty much saying “Your stuff isn’t getting deleted, just hidden from everyone but you” and “Yeah we know you hate the term “female presenting nipples” but we ain’t gonna stop saying it”

2. If a blog has a pixelated icon that means they got hit by the ban, you cannot view that blog outside the sidebar. You cannot even view their archive. Allegedly if you follow the advice in this post it’ll be fixed but only if it was an accidental flag (aka a real sfw blog)

3. The post Staff made including examples of what was ok to post. It got flagged.

4. Yes, the bots are still here. Yes they are still stealing posts and putting porn links on them. Yes there are still ads with stuff more sexual than they allow in posts. Yes innocent things are still getting flagged.

5. So yes, the site is still here and staff are still morons.

Just an update on the site! As you can see, the ban did nothing but make it harder for blogs to share their content and get views. Porn bots are still running rampant. The flagging system is still broken.

Stay tuned for Phase 2 of the Log Off Protest. Things have got to change.

FYI, this applies to talc & talc-based powders / body products in general— J&J knew about this for decades because talc & asbestos occur together naturally (the minerals literally grow together in nature, have similar compositions, and are / were mined together), and they’re difficult to cleanly filter out from each other.

It’s old knowledge that, unless you’re involved in mining, mineralogy, or occupational health & safety, has been deliberately buried from both the public’s and regulators’ knowledge.

CNBC’s article + their writeup on the Reuters report revealing J&J’s cover-ups go into more detail on their corporate liability and the impact of J&J’s products specifically…

…But I cannot overstate that people’s best option right now is to look for products in general that do not contain talc at all, regardless of the manufacturer, and to be vigilant in seeking appropriate healthcare (and/or legal action if required) if symptoms arise.

This goes for body use (diaper powder, chafing powder— this is where the cases of ovarian cancer are coming from), for any use where powder may be inhaled (hair, face), or will have prolonged exposure to mucus membranes (eye makeup, bath bombs, etc.).

J&J are not the only ones who have covered this data up, and companies that aren’t sued will absolutely continue to do so. Be safe & be vigilant.

By the way, all, for those writers who are headed to Pornhub: Please remember that we all have to do better. Pornhub is infamous for stealing the work of and exploiting sex workers and actresses. It is the bare minimum of basic solidarity to credit them if you’re going to use their images. The same goes for using artists’ work: Permission if you can, credit at the minimum.

If you’re going to Pornhub, you’re joining a really rotten site (and we’re all joining rotten sites, there are no friendly corporations, etc). The most we can all do is try to encourage a culture of integrity, solidarity and basic respect wherever we all end up.

The passenger steamer SS Warrimoo was quietly knifing its way through the waters of the mid-Pacific on its way from Vancouver to Australia. The navigator had just finished working out a star fix and brought Captain John DS. Phillips, the result. The Warrimoo’s position was LAT 0º 31’ N and LONG 179 30’ W. The date was 31 December 1899.

“Know what this means?” First Mate Payton broke in, “We’re only a few miles from the intersection of the Equator and the International Date Line”. Captain Phillips was prankish enough to take full advantage of the opportunity for achieving the navigational freak of a lifetime.

He called his navigators to the bridge to check & double check the ship’s position. He changed course slightly so as to bear directly on his mark. Then he adjusted the engine speed.

The calm weather & clear night worked in his favor. At mid-night the SS Warrimoo lay on the Equator at exactly the point where it crossed the International Date Line! The consequences of this bizarre position were many:

The forward part (bow) of the ship was in the Southern Hemisphere & in the middle of summer.

The rear (stern) was in the Northern Hemisphere & in the middle of winter.

The date in the aft part of the ship was 31 December 1899.

In the bow (forward) part it was 1 January 1900.

Two different days,

Two different months,

Two different years,

Two different seasons

But in two different centuries - all at the same time!

Francisco Negroni is a world-known Chilean photographer that has won six international awards for his outstanding shots of erupting volcanoes. In 2011, he made himself known with his photos of the eruption of Cordon Caulle volcano in his home country. « I never really thought about becoming a volcano photographer. It came naturally.
